Don Parris is a minister and author of Penguin in the Pew, a book about using GNU/Linux and libre software in churches and other faith-based ministries. His book has been converted to a Moodle course through GlobalLiteracy. He is actively organizing a chapter of The Freely Project in the Charlotte, NC area to help churches discover and deploy libre software. He is also an editor at LXer, a GNU/Linux news site. Don recently organized a small group of ministers to challenge Microsoft to support OpenDocument for the visually-impaired.
He enjoys taking his wife out to eat so he can eat her leftovers, as well as picking at his daughter's. When he's not struggling with his addiction to Cheez-Its he's busy writing and editing articles for LXer.
